40 Days of study

A human being lives, but he is given life.

The Holy Spirit and Witnessing

Seventh-day Adventist, as well as many other Christians, have been anticipating the second coming of Christ for many years.
The parable of the 10 virgins teaches that the bridegroom’s return would be delayed. So what is at the heart of this delay? I believe that there are two reasons. First God people are not ready. Second, the three angels’ message of (Revelation 14) has not been carried through-out the world.

We read in (Number 27:15, 16) that the Bible indicates the word spirits refer to living men and women. The Bible also indicates that the term prison, or prisoners, can refer to men and women under Satan’s power of sin and deception. Hence, we see from Scripture that is was Christ, by the Holy Spirit, speaking through Noah, who prepared the inhabitants of the earth for the flood. So it will be in the last days just before Jesus’ second coming (Matthew 24:37). Christ will speak through the Holy Spirit through Spirit-filled Christians to prepare for the Second Advent.

I have been a Seventh-day Adventist for some years now and I am now a pastor for the Seventh-day Adventist Chruch in Valdez, Alaska, and as we talked about on day 9 and 17 we can put money in all the programs, and methods we want to but in the end, it will be the Spirit-filled Christian that carries the three angels message to the world.

Supporting Scripture; (1 Peter 3:18-20), (Isa. 42:6, 7), Must read (Revelation 14),

Personal Reflection and Discussion

  1. Why has Jesus not come yet?
  2. What comparison did Jesus make between the time of Noah and our day?
  3. What can we do to become one whom God will use to finish His work?

Prayer Activities

  1. Call your Partner and discuss this devotional.

    • For God to witness through you by the Holy Spirit, as He did through Noah.
    • For God to give you the strength to carry His message to all nations.
    • For the individuals on your pray list.
    • That we continue to seek the Holy Spirit.
  4. For today use the following Bible Verse in your prayer (Ps. 119:35)

I pray daily that we willall be in heaven with Jesus. I can’t think of anything better than to have my loved ones with me. By loved ones I mean friends and family and somany people I don’t even know. I, myself, do not have the spiritual gift of being able to speak out and tell people about our Father. Praise God that the Holy Spirit can do that through me when it needs to be done. I try to live my faith since I am not a speaker but There are so many sho need the truth so Jesus can soon come.

Well Rosie, I think I got your portion of public speaking, because I have a big mouth and I love to talk. Just as (Eph. 4:11) says, God did not give us all the same talents; he gave us what we needed to complete His mission. You have an amazing heart and even though you are a trouble maker, God uses each and every one that will follow Him.

How sad there is a work to be done, but few doing it. Life (better said Satan) keeps us busy eating and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage; trying to maintane and enjoy ourselves, and making plans for the future. Isaiah I think explains it best through out the book esp….”none calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth”- Isa. 59:4 What are we doing? We need to be reminded of Ps. 82 ” How long will you..accept the persons of the wicked?…I have said you, you are gods; and children of the Most High. But you should die as men, and fall like one of the princes”. If we don’t care, we could lose our very salvation and calling. I pray that God makes me stronger and be as one after God’s own heart and plead for those He’s put on my heart.

I agree that it is very said, and I pray that same prayer everyday as well. Isaiah is my favorite book and every time I start to forget my calling I read (Isa. 43:10) “You are my witnesses, says the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” If God is calling me to be His mouth peace how can I say no?
