Christ’s method of witnessing was very personable; He mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs and won their confidence. Then He bade them, “Follow Me.” Since this was Christ’s of witnessing, when we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and Christ begins to live more fully in us, He will begin leading us to “mingle” with those in our circle of family and friends, putting in our heart a desire “for their good.” The greatest good is for them to come to know Jesus Christ and their Savior. Christ method was to take the initiative in contacting those around Him. He wants you and me to do the same.
Everyone has hurts, disappointed dreams, frustrations, and problems with which they struggle with. This is the very reason Christ has lead you to them. He knows their needs, and knows that you
have the answer for them. How does this apply to the Spirit-filled Christian? First, pray for Christ to come and fill you with the Holy Spirit and give you the passion for souls that He has. Make a list of those in your circle of family and friends who you feel do not know Christ. Begin praying for each of them every day. Appling the principles listed in the previous devotional. We must be willing to invest the time and energy needed to bring them to know Christ. Our interest must be genuine, we my truly care for them and want them to know God the way we do. He just needs us to speak a few words of encouragement to them. God will give you the words to speak.

Personal Reflection and Discussion
Prayer Activities
This is where the Holy Spirit really is needed. There are some family members that while I love them dearly, I don’t like them very much. So when we ask for the Holy Spirit to touch and work on our loved ones we also need that prayer for the Holy Spirit to touch us with His love and His compassion. I have prayed so many years for my family and my friends and relatives but that is not enough. Sometimes I find it is harder to talk to family than it is strangers. I guess it is because we worry about how they(family) will perceive us. I know I have to do so much more but I also do alot of just “living my faith”. Sometimes that says a lot, especially when the Holy Spirit is working on those you are praying for.
I understand, I have family members like that also. all we can do is pray for them and set the example.
I agree it’s harder to witness to family since they also know all your faults and just accept you as common and maybe even weird. People who were closer to Jesus had a harder time accepting Jesus as anything more than common (just the carpenter’s son), even his brothers missed it. Jesus said a prophet is not accepted in his own town.
Love over all has to be the greatest witness, a sincere, not always perfect, but sincere love. Can’t think of which verse, but you probably know it…it says love is patient, love is kind, love does not envy, etc… I was thinking it would do us good if we study that and keep ourselves in check to show love to others.
Live the life that Christ wants you too and talk to them when you can. Then let the Holy Spirit take over.
