Gospel Work Finished under the Holy Spirit Power

In (Matthew 24:14) Jesus foretold that the “gospel f the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the ntions, and then the end will come”. Just before Jesus comes there will be a remendous evangelism explosion that will produce a mighty witness of the gospel on this earth.

In (Joel 2:23) the prophet Joel foretold of two  great Holy Spirit outpourings-the former, or early, rain and latter rain:  “Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the LORD your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. Peter indicated in his sermon on the day of Pentecost that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit had begun on that day. This early rain of the Spirit is also called the
baptism of the Holy Spirit.

I believe without the use of Radio, TV and the internet, this work would not be completed anytime soon. But it is not the use
of these methods that will complete God’s work; it is Christ centered people that will carry His message to all nations.

When consecrated Christians experience Christ in this way, the second great evangelism explosion will take place, and the second great outpouring of the Holy Spirit, called the latter rain, will fall upon this earth.

Personal Reflection and Discussion

  1. How have you experienced the Holy Spirit?
  2. What are the major factors in God’s work getting done?
  3. How can you take part in the last evangelistic work being finished?

Prayer Activities

  1. Call your Partner and discuss this devotional.
  2. Contact the people on your prayer list and let them know you are still praying for them.
  3. Pray with then and ask for the following;
    • For God to continue to convict you with the Holy Spirit.
    • For God to help you see His promise rather than the problem.
    • For God to give you the strength to carry His message to all nations.
    • For the individuals on your pray list.
    • That we continue to seek the Holy Spirit.
  4. For today use the following Bible Verse in your prayer (Hab. 3:2)

The great desire of Gods church in this days is not a full church but people who are filled with Holy Spirit. Don`t take me wrong, it fills so good to see a full church,, but it is not about our numbers, it is about the connection we have with God through his holy sprite. I see people get strong and stronger in proclaiming the message of God, that is the spirit of God working. I see people who were at one time radicals begin to be humbled and begin to surrender their lives to Christ, that explains the importance of prayer we were discussing about the past few days. We have a responsibility in accomplishment of the end time message, reaching to the world by all possible ways. God has equipped you very well for His service, get out there and proclaim it. Jesus is coming soon.

Give a Church with a hand full of Spirit-filled believers over a church of people that come to just put a check in the box.

Jesus said in (Matthew 7:21-23) “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Again, God is so good. A group of us were in church this morning for breakfast and talking about the former rain and the latter rain. One person there didn’t know what we were talking about and we were then able to expain it to her. I am not sure she understood but I can now show her this study to help. I have heard that 97 % of the world has now heard the message. That is only 3% left. We still have so much work to do and we must start by asking and accepting more than just the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Rosi, I was thinking the same thing when I read this. This is a great example of how the Holy Spirit works. Joseph could be witness to this working also. Tonight we started a new study, this is before I even read this blog, we were thinking of which book to choose and I choose Joel. I didn’t know what Joel was about, we chose it since we had read Hosea some time ago and I felt it would be good to read through that portion of the Bible chronicially. This morning at that table I really wondered where in the Bible it made reference to the latter rain, now I know.

In answer to the questions above, I think we could all say here we’ve all experineced the power of the Holy Spirit at work. This really shows us how the HS could and will work through us. We didn’t neccesarily pray today to have the HS show his powers to us or even to lead us into a better understanding on the latter rain; the major common factor is that we’ve invitied God to personally lead our lives. We’ve opened our heart to the yeilding of God’s Holy Spirit, whether we prayed it with words or with the moanings (or desires) of our hearts. God uses and lead those who are willing and know his voice in their hearts.

The Holy Spirit knows what we need when we need it, and will guide us to the truth. but we must be willing to receive it.

I am not sure about the numbers, but I look forward to the day everyone has heard the message of the 3 angels and we can go home.
